“I had a truly wonderful experience at the Anchorage Marriott Downtown, and what stood out most was the exceptional quality of the staff, something that truly makes all the difference in a hotel stay. From the moment I checked in, Matthew at the front desk set the tone. He was efficient and professional, yet incredibly warm and personable. He took the time to ask about my flight and made sure every detail of my stay was taken care of. Thanks to him, I was placed in a beautiful room with stunning views of the water and mountains, an unforgettable welcome to Anchorage. (Fingers crossed I’ll catch the northern lights too!) A special thank you as well to Renz in the concierge lounge, who went above and beyond in every sense. His level of attentiveness and genuine care is unlike anything I’ve experienced before. He checks in with every guest, anticipates needs before they’re even spoken, and does it all with kindness and grace. He is constantly moving, ensuring the lounge is comfortable, well-stocked, and welcoming for everyone. I also noticed he was wearing a 20th anniversary pin with Marriott, a detail that truly speaks volumes. That kind of dedication to one company is rare these days and something to be deeply valued and appreciated. It’s clear that his years of experience are reflected in the pride he takes in his work and the exceptional service he provides. It’s easy to have a nice property, but it’s the people who bring it to life. Matthew and Renz are shining examples of hospitality done right. Because of them, my stay wasn’t just comfortable;it was memorable. I would absolutely stay here again.”
“This review is really more for Renz in the concierge lounge on the 20th floor. His level of attention to service to each customer that comes into the lounge is beyond anything that I have ever encountered for breakfast in a hotel. The rooms itself is good and up to the Marriott quality expectation. Location being right downtown made walking to many of the local sights convenient enough.”
“Stayed overnight after a cruise. The hotel itself was nice - close to the airport without being too close; no noise pollution. There was a nice view of the lake from our which was clean but there was an old (yucky) bar of soap left in the shower. The area seemed pretty dead with little to do in the evening we arrived. So, we had a drink in the lobby. The drink, an espresso martini, was a bit bland. It was espresso shaken up with a small amount of Vodka. If there was Kaluha mixed in, it was negligible. Per the tour operator, luggage was supposed to be picked up outside our door at 6am by the bell captain then taken to the airport transfer bus by 7am. It was picked up in a timely manner BUT getting the staff to bring it out the bus was a challenge and we were late because of the delay in getting our luggage. So, I would stay here again for convenient location and general cleanliness but definitely would not revisit the bar nor depend to the luggage service.”
